Do Americans have it too easy? Why do you say so?
15 sentences

Answers

Answer:

Americans do have it easy.

Explanation:

American's live in a government that is built on democracy, where the people have all of the power. Americans are able to choose who is voted into power of the government to represent us to the world. American's presidents, congressman, senates, are all voted into power by the people. While other countries one person has all the power, and the civilians have no say in who leads their country. Americas government was created using something called checks and balances. Checks and balances divided the power of the government between three branches so one part of the government doesn't grow more powerful than the other. Americans also have basic human rights for example, the first amendment allows us to have right to free of speech, religion, press, and assembly which we consider basic human rights. Other countries, however, don't consider it the same way we do. Other countries dictate their civilians lives and basic human rights in America, aren't given to the people in other countries. It may be against the law to protest for a good cause, or to believe/be a part of a certain religion. Some countries aren't even allowed to say things like "I hate our current president."

Americans aren't also forced to do things unlike other countries where they could force you to become a solider in a war you want no part of. Americans also have a huge food supply they don't even use or even need. In fact, over 408 billion dollar's worth of food is wasted in America each year due to people just throwing it away. In other parts of the world people who aren't the rich deal with foot shortages and famine. Americans do have it too easy, I can even say they are pretty ungrateful and live a easy life, some more than others of course.

Hope this helps.

my first pet inspired me to do so, my golden retriever Bailey was a recuse, when, I had brought him home he was terrified he was mistreated and abandoned when he was a puppy, luckily he began to know that i wasn't going to hurt him, and became my best beloved friend.

After recusing Bailey I decided I wanted to recuse more cats and dogs, and open a humane and loving shelter for all the animals that were in the cold, wet, harsh streets.

I had saved enough money and opened a shelter, hired some of my good recusing friends and began recusing cats and dogs, since then me and my team, had rescued 583 dogs and 769 cats! And now the shelter is in our second generation's hands.

What does it mean literally
and figuratively for Billie Jo
to get "out of the dust"?

Answers

Answer:

"Out of the Dust" is a multi-stable image with many connotations. Why not say, "leaving the dust bowl"? That is what many people of the Panhandle are doing. But Hess's choice of words implies much more. They are not leaving, but "out of it, as though they are a part of something. "Out of implies a bond or a common origin. "Dust" becomes its entity in a symbolic world, a community, society enclosed in a world of dust. Like being in a womb, they are part of it, living, breathing, taking nourishment, trapped, struggling, growing, and changing. In Billie Jo, a metamorphosis takes place, "And I'm learning,/watching Daddy, that you can stay/ in one place/ and still grow" (226). Many think of the Graves of Wrath and the struggles of those who fled the dustbowl, but we get an intimate look at what life was like for those who remained in the dust through a young girl's eyes. As the title Out of the Dust implies, this story is born from their struggle.

Question: How do the authors use historical evidence to support their claim in this passage?

( this is the right answer, A) ( the questions all ready on here but i cant seem to find where to answer it)
A: They use primary-source quotations to show that enslaved people in Saint Domingue were willing to destroy property to gain their freedom.
B: They use secondary-source quotations to show the plan that the commanders devised in Alligator Woods in August of 1791.
C: They use primary-source information to describe the role of commanders on sugar plantations in Saint Domingue.
D: They use secondary-source information to describe Toussaint’s plan to enslave all the people working on the sugar plantations.

Read the passage from Sugar Changed the World.

By the late 1700s, Saint Domingue (what is now Haiti) was the world center of sugar. So many sugar plantations dotted the landscape that slaves called commanders managed other slaves. On the night of August 14, 1791, commanders from the richest sugar plantations in Saint Domingue gathered in a place called Alligator Woods and swore a solemn oath. They would rise up against their white owners, "and listen to the voice of liberty which speaks in the hearts of all of us." That voice told them to destroy everything related to sugar. Sugar made the Africans slaves, so sugar must be wiped off the island, now a vast sugar factory to the world.

By the end of August, the French colony was in flames. So many cane fields were on fire that the air was filled with "a rain of fire composed of burning bits of cane-straw which whirled like thick snow." Smashing mills, destroying warehouses, setting fields on fire, the freedom fighters demolished some one thousand plantations—and that was just in the first two months of their revolution. The fight against sugar and chains soon had a leader, Toussaint, who called himself "L’Ouverture"—the opening. Toussaint was making a space, an opening, for people to be free.
